Smart Market grows to over 30 publicly-owned markets join AlipayHK as new merchants

 

When AlipayHK announced e-wallet was available in 18 different fresh markets in May, including Lok Fu, Tai Wo Hau, Tin Yan, Leung King, Lei Tung and others, growth became exponential. Within less than three months, AlipayHK announces that e-wallet usage in fresh markets will have marched forward into more than 30 fresh markets in Hong Kong by month-end. Yau Ma Tei Market, Foodin (Kai Tin), Choi Wan Market, Hing Tin Market and others quickly joined the movement. AlipayHK continues to strive to make the lives of Hong Kong residents more convenient by integrating mobile payments into their daily shopping.

AlipayHK growing rapidly with 16 times growth in transactions year-on-year in 2018 Q2
Not only winning the hearts of our market users, AlipayHK is also breaking through other fields. The e-wallet transaction counts were 160% higher during Q2 of 2018 when compared with Q1 and a 16 times year-on-year growth, showing that more users are gaining confidence in e-wallet. In the meantime, the number of cooperative retailers with AlipayHK has increased from 15K to over 20K since 2018 May, which shows the driven demand of e-wallet from Hong Kong retailers.
